Stone Collection 3D Strategy Game

Description
Core Gameplay Loop
Each match begins with a set number of tokens distributed across twelve pits on the board. Players control six pits on their side, with a larger storage pit at one end. On a turn, a player picks up all tokens from one of their pits and drops one token into each subsequent pit moving counterclockwise. Tokens can be placed in the player’s own storage pit and into opponents’ pits, but the opponent’s storage pit is skipped. If the final token lands in the player’s own storage pit, they earn an additional turn. If it lands in an empty pit on the player’s own side, that token and all tokens from the directly opposite pit are captured and moved to the player’s storage. The game ends when all six pits on one side are empty. The player with the most tokens in their storage wins.
Strategic Depth & Decision Making
While the rules are straightforward, the game rewards careful planning and anticipation. Players must decide which pit to start from, considering how many tokens will be distributed and where the final token will land. The extra turn mechanic encourages setups that land in the storage pit, while the capture rule creates opportunities to steal large groups of tokens from the opponent. Over time, players develop patterns and counters, making each match feel fresh. The absence of a timer allows for thoughtful deliberation, which is especially beneficial for younger players or those new to strategy games.
Visual Presentation & Accessibility
The 3D presentation enhances clarity by providing a clear view of all pits and token counts from any angle. The board is rendered with subtle textures and lighting, making it easy to distinguish between player sides and storage pits. The interface is clean, with intuitive touch or click controls for selecting and moving tokens. Animations are smooth but not distracting, keeping the focus on the game state. This visual approach makes the game accessible to players who might find traditional 2D representations confusing, while still appealing to those who appreciate a polished aesthetic.
Family-Friendly Design Philosophy
The game is designed to be inclusive for all ages. There is no violent content, no time pressure, and no complex scoring system. The rules can be explained in under a minute, allowing families to start playing immediately. The strategic depth emerges naturally as players gain experience, so children and adults can enjoy the same game at their own pace. The lack of real-time elements means the game can be paused and resumed easily, fitting into busy schedules. This makes it a strong choice for casual play, travel, or as a quick mental warm-up.
Replayability & Learning Curve
Because the game is deterministic with no random elements, every move matters. Players learn from each match, identifying mistakes and refining strategies. The core mechanics are simple, but mastering the timing of captures and extra turns takes practice. The game may include adjustable difficulty levels or rule variations to keep the experience fresh. For those who enjoy competitive play, the two-player mode offers direct head-to-head competition where each decision directly impacts the opponent’s options. The result is a game that remains engaging over many sessions, with no two matches playing out exactly the same.
